The Roslyn Synagogue: 10/01/2008

The Roslyn Synagogue is a unique institution. Attendees are diverse in both ethnic origin and religious observance. The shul is low-key in both regional prominence and physical stature.
Besides these characteristics, the synagogue has one other notable trait--its small membership. On the one hand, this fosters camaraderie and (generally) reduces strife, issues that larger congregations often struggle with.
However, the shul's small size often has the effect of stifling comment, discussion, and dissent. After all, who wants to be the one member criticizing others?
Therein lies the great need for this forum--to allow members to air their views of the shul, anonymously, and thereby foster an introduction of fresh air into The Roslyn Synagogue.
